The building is Gothic except the ambulatory and the Romanesque apse chapel. In the right transept is the tomb of St Dominic. The retable of the main altar (1538) by Damian Forment is remarkable.

The Mozarabic 10C building, partly hewn from the rock, has a cubical apse with large sculpted crows. Next to the church, a necropolis of monks buried in the caves was found.

The current monastery was built from the 16-18C. The treasury contains some splendid ivories that decorated two 11C reliquaries, whose precious stones were pillaged by Napoleon's soldiers.
