Farmers Market : The Michelin guide review

In the summer of 1934, farmers from the valleys surrounding Los Angeles gathered here to sell produce, engendering construction of a clapboard market complex that was largely completed by 1937. Though farmers' stalls have long since been replaced by more than 70 permanent businesses, the landmark open-air market retains a rustic charm. Greengrocers and butchers serve locals, while numerous international food and souvenir stands cater to visitors.
