Wining and dining her way through Tuscany was hard work for Wendy Brucker, who now shows off the fruits of her labor at Corso in Berkeley. Mementos of her Florentine travels can be found in framed souvenir menus, an all-Italian wine list-poured by taste, glass, or carafe-and in the traditionalbistecca alla Fiorentina, named for the Renaissance city's Trattoria Sostanza. Nosh on Dungeness crab toast; butternut squash and potato gnocchi; then perhaps panna cotta for dessert. Most menu items are under $20. True to Tuscany, Corso's dining room is simply set. The best seats may be at the granite kitchen counter where meat lovers will enjoy the view of dangling, house-curedsalumi. Movie buffs can dig into black-and-white Italian films over the bar.
