Baton Rouge star : The Michelin guide review

Incorporated in 1817, this busy port city on the banks of the Mississippi River is home to the Louisiana state capitol as well as the flagship university of Louisiana's state system. Its colorful name comes from the "red stick" placed by local Indians to mark a hunting boundary. The attractive State Capitol Complex borders the downtown commercial center to the north, while the riverbank area features a historic state capitol museum, an art and science museum/planetarieum, and the USS Kidd, a decommissioned World War II destroyer.
