Situated just a few miles down the Potomac River from the nation's capital of Washington DC, this enclave of historic homes and churches set along tree-shaded brick walks retains its colonial charm and an atmosphere of slow-paced Southern gentility. Historic Old Town carefully preserves its early American architectural heritage, and the waterfront area is graced with pretty parks. Restaurants and boutiques line King and Washington Streets.
