Travel guide Bangkok
Bangkok
: The Michelin guide review
The huge metropolis of Bangkok is fascinating for its mix of the traditional and the modern. On the western bank of the River Chao Phraya, the Thonburi district, criss-crossed by a maze of khlong (canals), seems to have changed little over the centuries, with its floating markets and houses on stilts. The eastern bank, on the other hand, is home to most of the tourist sights (along the river) and the business district, and is a constant hive of noise and activity. You’ll appreciate the peace and quiet of the city’s 400 temples and its museums, which are home to some fine examples of Siamese art.
