Malta Square : The Michelin guide review

Malta Square, seen in Milos Forman’s film Amadeus, takes its name from the knights of the Order of Malta, who established there fortifications here. A statue of Brokoff now stands in the centre of the square. Three large houses catch the eye: Nostic Palace and its Baroque façade, home of the Netherlands Embassy; Turba Palace, with a Rococo façade, housing the Japanese Embassy; and Straka Palace, apparently designed by Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Mathey in the late 17C.
