Housed in the hangars of the former aerodrome at Kbely, the Aviation Museum contains around 100 civil and military planes, from those made by local aviation company Avia to the Spitfires pilted by Czech airmen in exile who joined the RAF, and Messerschmitt 262s abandoned here by the retreating German airforce. The numerous planes made in Soviet factories indicate the arms race that was so integral to the Cold War.
