This typical spa hotel, built in a highly ornate fancy style and founded by the confectioner Johann Georg Pupp in 1775, has risen to the rank of institution in this town. Frequented by the nobility for many years, it nonetheless encountered a rival when the Hotel Imperial was built on the hillside in 1912.
