Travel guide Segovia
Segovia
: The Michelin guide review
Situated at an altitude of 1 000m, the walls of Segovia cling to a rocky spur overlooking the arid Castilian plain. For over 1 800 years, its spectacular Roman aqueduct has linked the commercial lower town with the historic upper town. The latter is criss-crossed by a maze of narrow streets, radiating out from the bustling Plaza Mayor, and is home to many delightful buildings such as the Alcázar, an architectural gem, and the magnificent cathedral, built in the reign of Charles V.
