Archaeological Museum : The Michelin guide review

Set in a 15C plateresque cloister, the Archaeological Museum takes the visitor from the pre-Romanesque period to Prehistory. On the lower level, the refined art of the 9C Kingdom of the Asturias is revealed: altars like that of Naranco, bas-reliefs often of oriental influence, open-work windows, columns and so on. The oldest relics are in the upper gallery. As you leave, do not miss the façade of the Monastery of Saint Pelagius (17C-18C). Closed for restoration.
