Plaza Mayor : The Michelin guide review

Dating from 1665, Plaza Mayor is an exercise in architectural elegance. Its arcades and balconies give onto gracious perspectives and fine buildings, like the one now occupied by the Municipal Police (Baroque style, with balustrade). This square was the scene of fighting between the townspeople and the French during the War of Independence. Today, it is the backdrop for the events of Holy Week.
