Travel guide Huesca
Huesca
: The Michelin guide review
The capital of Upper Aragón, Huesca has a tranquil provincial feel which belies its rich historical past. First a Roman town, then an important Moorish fortress until 1096, Huesca was the capital of Aragón until 1118, when Zaragoza stole its title. During the civil war, the town was besieged by Republicans from September 1936 to 1938 and was partially destroyed in the violent battles that took place here.
