The Raval : The Michelin guide review

The Raval is the “creative heart” of Barcelona. This formerly ill-reputed old Chinese quarter has changed enormously with a great deal of regeneration work carried out. Initiated in 1995 with the opening of Barcelona’s Contemporary Art Museum, the remodelling of the Rambla del Raval is the latest development. A district of young people and immigrant communities, it is a mix of trendy bars and restaurants, smoky cafes, old houses and run-down blocks.

Pros

Les guides touristiques souvent oublient de parler du Raval. C'est une de les zones plus créatives de Barcelone avec un métissage culturel impressionnant et lieus comme le MACBA, le CCCB, les marché de La Boqueria et beaucoup de boutiques. Le fashion shopping est un plaisir merci à toutes les petites boutiques que vous trouverez dans El Raval. A la rue Elisabets, pres du musée MACBA et le CCCB (Centre de Culture Contemporane de Barcelone) un groupe très spécial de boutiques avec Camper, Vialis, Twiggy, B-Huno, Miriam Ponsa et Juan-Jo Gallery. Dans la meme rue, le restaurant Dos Palillos et la librarie La Central del Raval, dans une veille eglise. Je recommande un tour dans ce quartier émergents et bohème.
