This open-air avenue and theatre is Barcelona’s most famous street, lined by cafés, flower and bird stalls, a famous market, and street artists. Depending on the time of day, it is teeming with thousands of tourists, locals and football fans, and remains busy late into the night. More often referred to as the "Ramblas", as it is divided into five sections, each bearing a different name, it extends from Plaça de Catalunya to the monument of Christopher Columbus on Plaça Portal de la Pau.
