Plaça d'Espanya : The Michelin guide review

From this square, dominated by a monumental fountain decorated with sculptures by Miquel Blay (1866-1936), you can acess the walled area which accommodates an exhibition/fair every year. Two towers inspired by the Campanile of Venise are used as two entrance points. From the towers you have a spectacular view over María Cristina avenue with its immense, alternating luminous fountains by Gaietà Buïgas, and over the steps which lead to the Palais National.
