Modern Art museum : The Michelin guide review

A division of the National Museum of Catalan Art, the Modern art museum exhibits an interesting collection of work from the late 19C. including paintings by Fortuny, an artist who was heavily influenced by Delacroix in terms of his way of dealing with subjects and use of colour; examples of modern furniture; and large paintings by Isidro Nonell, who evokes the passing of time through a use of dark colours and dramatic settings: a warning to those of us living in the past.
