Grand Palais Royal : The Michelin guide review

This palace has been home to the Counts of Barcelona, and the kings of Aragon. The building which was started in the 11th and 12th century. in the middle of a Roman wall was built to its current size in the late 12C. In the 16C one of its wings was occupied by the Court of the Inquisition. The facade is immense with great arches back to back, joined with the buttresses. Behind these arches you will see the old Roman triple arcaded facade with its Gothic rose windows.
