  Pros

  A very nice restaurant, friendly and welcoming staff, the sommelier knew his business, our waiters worked well together with a smile. We never felt "the stiff upper lip", rather the feeling was cosy. Food was more than perfect in an innovative style such as smoked oyster, mustardicecream and so on.

  Expensive, very expensive (but we knew that before we went there...

  Superbes produits exellement cuisines par Martin Berrassategui.Tres bon service et tres beau cadre moderne. Excellemt rapport qualite prix du menu Lasarte au dejeuner

  The food was really amazing and innovative. Further I en joyed the wines choosen with the menu. I had a good time!

  Cons

  Two things I didn't like in this restaurant. The first one is the Bathroom, there is only one and on a busy evening with a group dinner you have to wait and it was dirty. The second thing is that I went sick at night after about 4 hours. It's not what you expect after having such a nice dinner in a 2 star resatuarant. I mailed the restaurant, they responded quickly and said they were gonna check things after that I didn't hear anything from them. I would expect some more coulance!

  We did visit Lasarte on Friday 6 th of may 2011.This was the first time we did plan to visit a star restaurant anyway and therefore we did check out carefully all comments on internet. after searching we decided to travel from Almere, The Netherlands to Barcelona, Spain and have a lunch at Lasarte. To get much as possible different culinary taste of food we ordered the "Tasting Menu". I cannot and will tell you by letter how beautiful all this was. My only comment is: Try before you die!!

  He estado 3 veces en 2 años en este restaurante. En todas las ocasiones ha sido una experiencia fascinante en todos los sentidos. El trato del personal. La primera vez que preguntan por alguna alergia o intolerancia. Sommelier correcto sin intención de agobiar. Carta de vinos magnífica. Pan excelente. Los platos (mil hojas de foie con anguila ahumada, kokotxas, huevo en coción lenta, pescado....postres, etc denotan honestidad en su elaboración y en su presentación. No comprendo, como comenta otra crítica, las opiniones tan dispares que se pueden leer en su página. Se merece la segunda estrella y, en este caso, honra a la guia Michelin.

  Me sorprende ver las críticas negativas que se han publicado sobre este soberbio restaurante, honrosamente galardonado con una segunda estrella hace poco. El menú degustación (largo) que ofrecen en la actualidad es imbatible, empezando por los entrantes y acabando por los postres: la gamba roja, el lenguado, el pichón, ¡esa torrija! Un festival gastronómico de modernidad bien entendida.

  Quelle déception! les plats du menu dégustation ressemblent à des mises en bouches, donc une bouchée par plats, cela faits bien cher la bouchée...le plat "coeurs de légumes" se compose de quelques feuilles de salade et de pétales de fleurs...l'accord vins/mets proposé s'apparente plus à des tests grandeurs nature sur les cobayes que nous sommes .... Brefs 2 étoiles qui ne valent même pas un bib'gourmand... à éviter absolument.

  Very tasty and good and "modern" food. Well served.

  Hilarious night with 4 corked wines!!! A real "sommelier" (at least that was how he introduced himself) didn't know that smelling at the cork doesn't say anything about the wine. Repeating with 4 wines that "the cork is smelling fine" and my comment, politely, that the cork is of no importance, became a running joke with our guests. Of course the sommelier opened new bottles and finally the wines were ok, but this law of murphy with corked wines that night got a bit irritating because of this man.
