Astorga : The Michelin guide review

Already renowned at the time of the Romans, Astorga developed in the Middle Ages thanks to the fairs and activities which entertained pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela. Food-enthusiasts will enjoy Astorga's mantecadas, a type of brioche. In the Plaza Mayor, note the famous clock crowning the town hall, where two costumed “maragatos” (a cross between a Goth and a Moor) appear every hour.
