Through its vaulted passages, you will reach this vast rectangular square which brings to mind the great squares of Castille. Over the centuries it was an important place for meetings and was the setting for autodafés, fairs, executions, markets and even bullfights in the 19C: The bulls were enclosed in the calleja del Toril. Many times it has changed but this very old square has not altered since the17C. On Saturday, its peace is lost as the Cordobans go out to the market.
