Santa Bárbara Castle : The Michelin guide review

Santa Bárbara Castle played a leading role in the city's history. Its initial foundations are believed to have been laid around 200 BC by Carthaginian Amilcar Barca. The castle has three main areas, the most recent dating from the 17C. The Plaza de la Torreta is surrounded by much older buildings. From the upper terrace, which is set beside the ruins of a keep, you have a panoramic view over the town. The Capa Foundation's sculpture collection, which shows the work of Spanish artists from the 19 and 20C, is also worth a visit.
