Millesgården star : The Michelin guide review

This open-air museum perched on sheer cliffs was the residence of sculptor Carl Milles (1875-1955). The sculptures, most of which are copies of original works exhibited elsewhere create a harmonious whole with the Italian-style terraces, fountains, stairs and columns. Värtan offers a superb view. The main building, built in 1908 and transformed in 1936, gives a good overview of Milles work. The music hall contains paintings by Picasso and Utrillo, while the monk's cell houses Chinese sculpture.
