Kukkola Rapids : The Michelin guide review

The Kukkolaforsen, dominated by dilapidated wooden jetties, watermills and the inevitable fishermen's huts form a most familiar scene. Since the Middle Ages, people have traditionally fished from the jetties, catching all sorts of species of whitefish, lake fish closely related to the salmonidae, which are all referred to in Sweden by the term sik. This is also the focus of a festival, the Sikfesten, held the last weekend of July.
