Stockholm star star star : The Michelin guide review

The “Venice of the North” is a misleading nickname for Stockholm because the two cities have very different urban structures. Here, the overriding impression is not so much of a city criss-crossed by water as of a city that has developed by colonising the 14 islands dotted around it in the water. From Stadsholmen, the original centre, Sweden’s capital city has spread, over the centuries, to the neighbouring islands between Lake Mälar and the Baltic, and become a large metropolis.
