Palace Gardens : The Michelin guide review

In 1681, Tessin the Younger began laying out Baroque gardens bordered by lime trees. Lawns bordered by box hedges have replaced the parterre next to the palace. The bronze pieces in the garden, including the Hercules Fountain by Adrian de Vries, are spoils of war from the 17C. Ten water jets and lawns lined with box trees form the water garden. The landscaped garden (1780) is in the English style, with its two pools, canals, islands and bridges.
