Danish Museum of Art and Design star : The Michelin guide review

The Kunstindustrimuseet presents an overview of decorative arts from 1100 to 1915 thanks to a collection of fine medieval tapestries, furniture and objects from the Baroque, Regency, Rococo, neo-Classical, Historicist (inspired by the so-called dragon style) and Art Nouveau pieces. Note the Herrebø blue faiences (18C) and the glass objects produced at the Gjøvik glassworks. The first floor is given over to design: pieces by the Norwegian Gerard Munthe, the glass artist Sverre Petersen and ceramist Nora Guldbrandsen, and remarkable contemporary creations by the jeweller Tone Vigeland.
