Norway’s capital Oslo enjoys an exceptional setting at one end of the only large fjord on the south coast, on lowlands surrounded by steep forested hills where you can ski. The sprawling urban area is dotted with a number of peaceful parks. In contrast, the small and lively city centre (which makes up only a third of Oslo’s total surface area) is where all the charm of this chiefly sea-facing capital lies.
