Narvik : The Michelin guide review

This modern town that grew out of an iron ore mine is equipped with one of the biggest and most efficient ore carrier ports in the world. The entranceway to the islands of Lofoten and Vesterålen, the city is today promoting itself as a tourist destination both in winter (thanks to its ultra-modern ski resort) and in summer. Its cable car reaches an altitude of 656m above sea level, from where the panoramic view over the town in its exceptional setting of fjords and steep mountain slopes is magnificent.
