Skagen star : The Michelin guide review

Once a humble fishing village invaded by shifting sand dunes, Skagen owes its present renown to painters. In the 1870s a group of artists, fascinated by the desolate landscape and the light, came here to paint and ended up staying for good, giving birth to the famous Skagen School. The village has gradually become a popular holiday resort with lovely beaches and a bustling centre. Skagen is also one of Denmark's main fishing ports.
