This museum on the banks of the fjord displays five Viking ships that were deliberately sunk around the year 1000 to prevent attacks by pirates. The ships, which were used for either war or trade, make for an interesting visit. It includes a shipyard where new boats are being built according to thousand year-old techniques. Two of these ships, moored in the museum harbour, are used for summer sailing trips.
