Drive through the forests north of Copenhagen to visit the 17th-century Frederiksborg Castle. Along the way, pass Fredensborg Palace and Kronborg Castle, a World Heritage Site and the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet.

The bright red walls and green turrets of Frederiksborg Castle rise up majestically from three islets in the middle of the castle lake. Explore the incredibly ornate chapel and the country's largest collection of portraits and historical paintings. Pass Kronborg Castle, where Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet unfolds and stop at Fredensborg Palace to take snaps of the Royal Family's summer residence.
