Victory Square star : The Michelin guide review

Dominated by the Orthodox cathedral and the Romanian Opera House, this elongated pedestrianised square was laid out in 1906. It is split in two (the Corso to the left and the Surogat to the right) by a central garden. A fountain supplied by an old artesian well, a Romanian she-wolf given by the city of Rome in 1926 and a monument to King Ferdinand (on Goethe Street) punctuate the square, lined by imposing buildings, some of which are by architect Lászlo Székely in the Secessionist style.
