Catholic Cathedral of St George : The Michelin guide review

Undoubtedly one of Romania’s finest Baroque ecclesiastical buildings, this cathedral was built between 1736 and 1744 to plans by Austrian architect Josef Emmanuel Fischer von Erlach, continuing the work of his illustrious father Johann Bernhard (1656-1723). Its interior dazzles with polychrome marble and Rococo stucco décor by Viennese artist Johann Müller.
