Solar de Mateus : The Michelin guide review

The manor, built in the first half of the 18C by Nicolau Nasoni is a triumph of Baroque architecture. Notice the magnificent ceilings in sculpted wood in the large dining room and in the large salon, the richness of the library and some of the furniture (Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, French and in painted wood). A museum on the first floor has some engraved coppers by Fragonard and Baron Gerard, some precious fans, some objects of worship and liturgical garments.
