Fábrica do Inglês : The Michelin guide review

This old cork factory (owned by an English firm, hence its name “the English factory”) has been transformed into a huge leisure facility. In the summer, there is an evening water and light show “Aquavision”. The old factory buildings are now a cork museum (Museu da Cortiça), which in 2001 won an award as Europe’s best industrial museum. Audio-visual displays, documents, machinery and tools tell the story of this important regional activity.
