Built in the 11C, this castle was rebuilt in the 15C by the Lord of the area, Fernão Pereira, of whom you can still see the shield above the door. It is an attractive example, although semi-ruined of Portuguese military architecture in the Gothic era. Through a postern, you reach the parade ground. You can follow the surrounding path where you can still the latrines... A staircase leads onto the first floor of the keep. The upper platform has a panoramic view.
