Museum of the Orient : The Michelin guide review

Opened in 2008 in the Alcântara docks, this huge cultural centre is located in the former refrigerated cod stores. The museum documents Portugal’s long-established relations with the Orient: Chinese porcelain, Indo-Portuguese furniture, textiles, pictures, silverware… The important Kwon On Collection focuses on the popular arts (music, theatre, traditional festivals) and has instruments, costumes, puppets, masks…
