Museu Calouste-Gulbenkian : The Michelin guide review

Situated in undulating gardens dotted with water features (on which glide geese and ducks) and modern sculptures, this museum opened in 1995 to house the Gulbenkian Collection. It displays its exhibits particularly well and is especially rich in European and Oriental art. Born in Istanbul in 1869, this Armenian connoisseur bequeathed his collection to Portugal on his death in 1955; the Foundation was established a year later.
