Municipal museum : The Michelin guide review

The municipal museum is housed in the Pimenta Palace, built in the 18C in the reign of Joao V. The different stages of the history of Lisbon are traced through Roman, Visigothic, Arab and medieval remains. The emblem of the city, a caravel transporting the body of St Vincent, guided by ravens, can be seen on many of the coats of arms displayed. The palace kitchens are decorated with azulejos with rural designs. Note the famous Fado canvas by Malhoa.
