Maritime Museum : The Michelin guide review

The Monument to the Discoveries is an invitation to visit this museum of Portugal's maritime past with its impressive exhibition of a variety of model ships used for many different purposes: Asian vessels, 18 and 19C yachts, merchant navy steam ships and models of 19 and 20C warships. Visitors will be enthralled by the reconstruction of the royal stateroom of the yacht "Amélia", or the hydroplane, the " Santa Cruz", which made the first crossing of the South Atlantic in June 1922!
