Between Lisbon and Cascais, Estoril is a seaside and winter resort on the Costa Estoril. This modest town was formerly known for the curative virtues of its spa waters and has become a place much visited by tourists who make use of the many leisure activities there (golf, casinos, beaches of fine sand...). Sporting competitions take place there (motor races, regattas, horse shows), and its fairs are well known (Festival of the sea).
