Caramulo : The Michelin guide review
This is a spa resort, stuck at a height of 800m to the slopes of the Serra Caramulo which is a schist and granite massif. You will cross thick vegetation where pines stand alongside oaks and chestnut trees, and some cultivation (maize, vines, olive trees). The western slope, which descends gently to the coastal plain of Aveiro, is the opposite of the eastern slope whose geography is more uneven and is cut by the tributaries of the Mondego.
