Cantanhede : The Michelin guide review
This large agricultural town is a commercial wine, cereals and wood centre. Between Cantanhede andAnçã (10 km to the south-east's) the fine white limestone known as Ançã rock is extracted. As easy to work as wood, this limestone was much appreciated by the architects and sculptors in the region, mainly those of the Coimbra school. In time, it takes on an ochre colour but has a tendency to crumble.
