Pieskowa Skala Castle : The Michelin guide review

The impressive outline of the castle looms over the Pradnik Valley. Built in the 14C by Casimir the Great, it belonged to the powerful Szafraniec family for many years. Frequently rebuilt, it comprises a somewhat ill-assorted mixture of bastions, watchtowers and Gothic and Renaissance elements. It is now a museum with a fine collection covering the Middle Ages to the 20C: examples of Italian and Spanish Baroque, Aubusson tapestries, Empire furniture and German Art Nouveau pieces.
