This magnificent cobbled square situated at the heart of the old town has grown since the 14C, shadowing the history of the royal castle, and assumed its current form in the 19C, after works were carried out to enlarge and open it up, including the disappearance of the rampart wall. Visible from afar on account of the column dedicated to King Sigismund III, this square with its royal castle and variety of colourful town houses is an ideal starting point for a walk.
