Situated to the West of the New Town, the Krasinski family's palace holds an undeniable place among the most beautiful jewels of baroque architecture in Europe. Designed by the Dutch architect Tylman van Gameren, this edifice was built by Italian craftsmen and master-builders between 1677 and 1683. Frequently rearranged, it was rebuilt exactly as it was after 1945, with in particular a triangular tympanum on its façade. Today, it houses collections from the National Library.
