Franciscan Basilica : The Michelin guide review

The church’s Gothic character was overlaid in the 19C by stained-glass and wall painting by Stanislaw Wyspianski, for which the building is now renowned. The paintings incorporate floral, geometric and heraldic motifs plus some figurative scenes and cover the chancel and transept walls, onto which the stained-glass casts a subtle light. Note the chapel of the Passion from where the confraternity of the same name (also called of the Good Death) set off each Good Friday in an impressive procession.
