Roermond : The Michelin guide review
Located at the confluence of the Meuse and the Roer, near the German-Dutch border, this industrial town is the largest town in the centre of Limburg. It is also the religious capital of this very Catholic province. The town used to have a surrounding wall of which the Rattentoren (14C) remains on the Buitenop. Much affected by the last war, Roermond has been partially rebuilt. It has two marinas and vast stretches of water.
