Enschede : The Michelin guide review
Enschede is the largest town in Twente, a green area at whose heart it is located. This large industrial centre has specialised in the textile industry (a flourishing activity in Twente) since the start of the 20C. Destroyed by fire in 1862 and bombed in 1944, Enschede today is a modern city. Since 1964, the University of Technology of Twente ( Universiteit Twente ) has been established in the north-west of the town where its buildings form a huge campus.
